Global Warming
I dont really think that global warming will affect me in my life time. I mean sure its causing the polar ice caps to melt but it really won't affect the world until later generations where the sea levels rise above where tey are now, submearsing most cities on the coast in water. I thinkto help slow this process we should use less gas for example get a hybrid care instead of a hummer. Also to slow the process you could use solar power instead of gasor oil.

Global warming is affecting our lifetime Sure; as the climate's warming trend continues rising sea levels will do their damage over the next century and we may not be around, but already Sweden and Norway's tree lines are receding, and animals all over are traveling north as their habitats shrink. Further, the rate of this climate change because it is man-made, if you will, is far more drastic than natural rates of change in temperature seen in the past, so we cannot be entirely sure that the more dire effects won't take place in our lifetimes. I think that you're right about what we can do to slow global warming, and think that primarily it is the use of fossil fuels that needs to be reduced, This is a sacrifice that I'm not sure many people would be willing to make though as our society is very dependent on fossil fuels and alternative fuels really need to be developed. Scary stuff.

The Global Challenge is looking for a high school student who is interested in helping save the planet from global warming and learning more about science, technology, engineering and mathematics while working with an international team using advanced technologies. This is a great after-school, independent study or curriculum enhancement project! You find one other student to work with and an adult of your choosing (parent, community member, teacher, older friend). All three people must register on the web site. The Global Challenge will help your team find a similar team from one of 50 other countries (e.g. China, Korea, India, Nigeria, Mexico, etc.) and will help support the team in making weekly progress from Nov until May.
